All since the adoption of the Swedish Environmental Code in 1999, legal aspects of environmental issues have evolved. Many issues concern mostly property owners, but anyone who runs a business that may have – or has had – effect on the environment, is affected by the Environmental code.

Advokatbyrån Ranstam & Partners assist property owners when they acquire and sell real estate. The environmental issues in these situations may prove to have great significance since a property owner may face tremendous costs for decontamination if it turns out that a property is contaminated. The responsibility may in some cases persist even after the property is sold. We also assist other operators in relevant issues that may arise in the extended operations, or when the operations are being altered on the property in question.
